The Warsaw Commuter Railway Limited Liability Company in
Grodzisk Mazowiecki was put into operation on 1 July 2001 and soon a few years privatization process started.
On 27 September 2007 the ownership of all shares of the Company was transferred from PKP S.A. to new owners, i.e.: Local Government of the Mazovian Voivodeship, city of Pruszków, city of Podkowa Leśna and the municipalities of: Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Milanówek, Brwinów and Michałowice.
The Company acts as a railway carrier providing passenger transport services to inhabitants of the south-western band of the Warsaw agglomeration. It is also an administrator of railway infrastructure, on which the carriage service is performed.
Warsaw Commuter Railway according to the schedule operates almost 150 trains per day and carries more than 7 million passengers a year.
