The origins of Kolprem Sp. z o.o. date back to 1999. At that time, on the basis of maintenance services separated from the Railway Transport Establishment of Katowice Steelworks (Huta Katowice S.A.), a limited liability company HK Utrzymanie Ruchu ZTK Sp. z o.o. was formed. Another transformation took place in 2001. Following the incorporation of the transport services of the Railway Transport Establishment of Katowice Steelworks, a limited liability railway services company Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Kolejowych KOLPREM Sp. z o.o. was established and until 2007 it provided mainly transport services and services connected with current maintenance and repairs of railway tracks, civil engineering structures and electrical power engineering systems to Mittal Steel Poland S.A., Branch in Dąbrowa Górnicza – now ArcelorMittal Poland S.A.
