Altrans, established in 2006, has continued the operations of Sarkom — a company present in the railway market since 1992.
The core activities of Sarkom, including purchase and sale of freight wagons and their repairs and modernisation as well as rental of rolling stock, have been unchanged and continued by Altrans.
The company, in order to meet the demand for special purpose rolling stock in the railway market, reconstructs and modernizes the wagons to adapt them to the increasing requirements of carriers.
This is how new versions of dump cars 204 Vb and 426 Vb, successfully used in track works, were built.
The company carries out modernisation projects in collaboration with an experienced design office and the wagons are repaired and reconstructed by Śląskie Zaplecze Remontowe Sp. z o.o. — a company co-owned by Altrans.
At present, subsequent projects are at the stage of trials and preparation for implementation — predominantly those focusing on sustainable transport.
