MABO Sp. z o.o. has been in the steel structures industry for 50 years. Expertise, experience, own production resources, share capital of 17 million, know-how, numerous patents, industrial designs, awards and certificates have earned MABO recognition on the Polish and European markets.
In 2009, the Company added catenary fittings to its products range. At the end of 2012, MABO came up with an idea of modernising catenary equipment. Part of the equipment was designed still before World War II. We invited the AGH University of Science and Technology from Kraków to work on the project. This is how our scientific and industrial consortium was set up. Thanks to funds granted by the National Centre for Research and Development, the consortium could start implementing its initiative. During the entire period of works on the programme, that is, from January 2013 until December 2015, we were supported by the experience and expertise of the Railway Institute in Warsaw, for which we are very grateful. While performing the task we organised numerous meetings to learn the opinions and suggestions of the environment strictly connected with the subject matter of the project: designers, fitters — representatives of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. Such cooperation resulted in new, interesting solutions intended for use in railway and tramway catenary systems. The most important ones include catenary suspensions, catenary tensioning units and busbar jibs.
